The project "Promotion of the Catholic Schools and Family Values in the Former Soviet Bloc Countries" is running by the Stowarzyszenie Chrześcijańskich Dzieł Wychowania in cooperation with the Arrupe Center. Is addressed to Catholic organizations, prospective school principals, teachers, and families sending their children to the Catholic schools. The project seeks to increase the number Catholic schools in the former Soviet bloc countries as well as raise the prestige and moral impact of the already existing schools.
Organizations/Catholic schools participating in this project are from Albania, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Russia, and Poland.
Main goals of the project: (1) Support Catholic organizations in their initiatives of opening new Catholic schools as well as promote Catholic education through multimedia, (2) Give professional training to the prospective school principals on the subject of school administration, (3) Promote family values among teachers and religiously indifferent couples who send their children to the Catholic schools.
We plan to reach these goals through: (1) Assisting Catholic organizations in the process of opening a Catholic school, (2) Publishing reportages, essays, and making films on Catholic schools’ achievements, (3) Organizing two summer training sessions on school administration for prospective principals in cooperation with the Pedro Arrupe Formation Center for Educational Leaders, (4) Organizing events and weekend workshops on family values, (5) Publishing didactic materials for teachers on family values.
Time of the project implementation: June 2016-June 2018
