W roku 2009 realizowaliśmy w języku angielskim projekt z mediacji rówieśniczych i rozwiązywania konfliktów interpersonalnych (Conflict Resolution - Peer Mediation in Schools).
The workshop was based on the program of Peace Education Foundation from USA, who offer mediation program for teachers and students in order to teach them how to deal constructively with conflict at interpersonal level so they will be able to extend these skills to ever wider levels in society. The Peace Education Foundation (PEF), a non-profit educational organization, was founded in 1980. They have created specific program which enables students and teachers obtain skills to resolve conflicts in a win-win manner. The Peace Education Foundation’s method of conflict resolution develops skills such as anger management, respect, self-discipline, empathy, cooperation, problem solving and effective communication through creative teaching methods. It is already known in Canada, Australia, South Africa, Chile and many other countries. The program run by the Peace Education Foundation from USA (www.PeaceEducation.org) offers conflict resolution curriculum, mediation curriculum, workplace curriculum and other educational resources. Our workshop run by the US trainers consisted of 20 hours of practical learning how to prepare and work with teenagers’ mediation teams in secondary schools. Each participant received all materials needed for teachers' and students’ training. We thank the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and Anonymous German Foundation for supporting this project financialy.
